About the Role
The Corporate Counsel at the company is a key legal role with a focus on negotiating, drafting, and advising on a variety of commercial contracts and management agreements. This includes contracts with outside vendors, such as temporary service agencies, non-profit organizations, subcontractors, and licensees. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with company policies, identify and manage legal risks, and oversee contracting compliance for outside vendors. The role also involves independently handling legal matters, advocating the company's interests, and serving as a strategic partner to location management. Superior collaboration, critical reasoning, and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines.Candidates for the Corporate Counsel position should have at least 3 years' of legal experience, with a strong background in commercial contracts. A JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership are required. The role demands a candidate with outstanding critical reasoning and analytical skills, punctuated with common sense, and a demonstrated ability in relationship building. The Corporate Counsel will work under the oversight of the General Counsel and must be capable of recognizing when the advice of more senior or outside counsel is necessary.
