Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and talented full-time Research Associate to join the US team in Newton, MA, at Harbour Biomed/Harbour Antibodies. The successful candidate should have strong experience in molecular and cell biology techniques including culture of primary cells and cell lines, transient/stable transfection and cell line selection, flow cytometry, ELISA and western blot. He/She will play an important role in the discovery and development of novel biotherapeutics for immuno-oncology. He/she will be responsible for generating the tools necessary for evaluation and screening of lead candidate therapeutics. He/she will be expected to participate in experimental design, conduct experiments, optimize throughput, maintain detailed records, and generate standard operating procedures.

Roles/Responsibilities

Design and conduct experiments with limited supervision from Scientists Evaluate data, make observations, troubleshoot, and keep detailed records in laboratory notebook

Communicate results and observations to colleagues in team meetings Tissue culture of primary cells and cell lines

Transient/stable transfection and selection of engineered cell lines

Cell and molecular biology techniques including ELISA, flow cytometry and western blot

Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline with 2-4 years of biotech/pharma industry experience

Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques, required

Experience with transient and stable mammalian protein expression, required

Experience with immunology techniques, including culture and maintenance of primary immune cells, a plus

Excellent attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), required

The successful candidate should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and contribute to the strategic goals of the company.
