VP, Resident Experience & Engagement

Job Summary

This position is responsible for creating and executing the strategic vision for resident experiences and engagement companywide. This position collaborates with the Clinical and Culinary teams towards this goal. The VP of Engagement works in coordination with senior leadership to ensure the internal and external communication about resident experience and engagement meets the expectations of investors.

Essential Functions

Leads Milestone's community engagement programing in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care specific services to ensure resident's experience matches the culture of Milestone's mission of Reimagining The Way We Age .

Set in motion Milestone's vision of resident engagement and executes on the action items of that vision as it relates to resident experience and engagement in collaboration with all other services provided under the Milestone Vision and Mission.

Create programs that meet all State, Federal, and Culturally specific expectations in each Community.

Establish benchmarks and best practices for resident engagement. Verifies compliance with standards on a routine basis.

Works in conjunction with Milestone Sales & Marketing team, and external partners on creation, implementation, execution and maintenance of website, social media accounts, marketing materials and professional associations to highlight daily, weekly, monthly programming.

Creates and implements companywide programs celebrating resident life, Assisted Living Week, Nurses Week, and specialty celebrations throughout the calendar year.

Supports the training of community teams in person and remotely on processes and programs within purview.

Evaluates and innovates existing programs that influence or impact resident experience in collaboration with Senior Leadership.

Collaborates on the employee experience as it relates to resident experience with the Senior Leadership.

Lead, coach, hire, discipline and terminate team members under purview

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in proven experience related fields of or related to: Recreational Therapy, Adult Education, training & programming, Gerontology or Healthcare related Degrees.

Must have proven leadership experience, overseeing multiple employees directly and indirectly, and ability to effectively manage multiple demands simultaneously.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in recreational therapy, healthcare, senior living and dementia care preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and other Special Requirements

Must meet all health requirements, including TB testing.

Must pass state required fingerprinting and criminal background process.

Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Essential Skills

Excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal and mediation skills, ability to evaluate workers' performance.

Demonstrates leadership through planning, directing, communicating, and coaching.

Self-motivated and has the ability to work independently and make decisions.

Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented. Pleasant, professional, and personable.

Must be able to understand and effectively communicate orally and in writing with residents, guests, supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and others, most of whom speak only English.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Professional office environment. Uses PC, telephones, word processing and other standard office equipment. Attends business-related functions. Travel via air and ground transportation are required of the position at varied intervals.

Management/Decision Making

Responsible for oversight of the Resident Engagement program, indirectly leading all Engagement employees in communities.
