Your Mission:

As our VP of Marketing and Communications, your mission is to create and lead a world-class integrated marketing and communications function that distinguishes our unique value proposition, breaks through the clutter, and drives sales through all stages of the customer buying process. You will create a complete marketing and comms strategy and ensure you and your team are executing on it so that it delivers exponential ROI.

You’ll work across our various teams to expertly execute strategies, using a wide variety of tactics, that capture current market opportunities while seeing around corners to keep us ahead of the game.

Other Things to Know:

You will manage a 3-person team in addition to our external design and PR agencies. You will report to Scott Keenan , our SVP of Revenue.

The Legacy You’ll Leave:

As a result of your time in this role, you strengthened our market position as a leader in fleet electrification, charging infrastructure, electrification finance, and decarbonized investments. Through your own work, and by managing a high performing marketing and communications team, you distilled our unique, end-to-end set of offerings into simple and compelling marketing collateral, communications, and hyper-targeted campaigns and sales collateral that demonstrably grew our customer base and investor awareness.Your work helped our prospective partners, investors, and customers better understand who we are, what we do, and drove them to engage with and buy from us.As a result, you were able to help decarbonize the planet in our collective effort to fight climate change.

Outcomes You’ll Deliver: Develop goals/OKRs/KPIs for your team and regularly track progress against them while ensuring you’re in sync with what our Executive Team needs from you

Effectively manage your small team and catapult them to the next level

Advance our reputation as a market leader in fleet electrification and charging infrastructure development, including with the investment community interested in investing in, owning, and financing decarbonization assets

Dramatically increase the volume and quality of our leads, delivering high-probability potential customers to our sales team

Develop targeted, integrated marketing and communications activities directed towards our various audiences (i.e., fleet managers, procurement/finance leaders and CFOs, chief sustainability officers, vehicle OEMs, real estate owners, and climate tech and infrastructure investment fund managers)

Build out a trackable marketing growth engine and ensure strong ROI and CPLs (cost per lead) for all paid marketing and communications activities

Set a new standard for collateral and creative output, developing industry and buyer-specific content that effectively increases our presence on a content calendar and efficiently supports the account-based marketing and ad-hoc needs of our sales team

Partner closely with our PR agency (which you will lead identifying) to ensure they execute their project scope which includes: development of an integrated marketing communications strategy, implementation of ongoing communications activities regarding earned, owned and paid media, and attainment of high visibility opportunities such as speaking engagements and awards opportunities

Who You Are: You have at least 10 years combined experience in marketing and/or communications (ideally more marketing than communications) and you have a successful track record of driving topline growth in partnership with your sales counterparts

You have proven success in designing and executing effective marketing and communications campaigns across multiple channels and customizing messaging for varied B2B audiences, from line-level management to the C-suite

You are an excellent writer and storyteller. While your team will be responsible for long-form content, you will lead content review, create pithy value prop statements, build board and partner presentations, and author written content for the investment community

You have deep experience developing buying personas, understanding motivations, and value prop talking points that speak to these personas

You have a track record with direct attribution to lead generation and revenue

You have hands-on experience building the measurement process for marketing spend attribution, tracking, and ROI measurement

You have experience in managing and directing marketing media buyers

You have a strong understanding of account-based marketing (ABM)and how to structure the team, funnel, lead gen campaigns (from events to paid media), ROI measurement, and content development cycles to support targeted & complex sales efforts (i.e., multiple decision-makers/influencers, long deal cycles, etc.)

You are experienced in working hand-in-hand with sales leadership to build customer strategy, drive awareness, support lead generation, and create deal-specific content to win new business

You have a track record of creating and launching a company’s first marketing and communication strategies and have worked in or are undeterred by operating in quickly scaling, hyper-growth companies

You are an excellent communicator. You have healthy habits of documenting your decisions and regularly sharing status updates. You distill complex issues and prepare executive-level summaries. You instinctively know when to escalate problems and ask for help when appropriate

Bonus points if you have experience in clean energy, renewables, sustainability, energy, EVs, automotive, or an industrial B2B sector
