Summary:
The Project Controls Specialist will perform project scheduling, reporting, forecasting, and provide proposal support as required. The Project Controls Specialist will follow project controls practices as guided by the Director of Project Controls. This position requires extensive utilization of Primavera 6 and Microsoft Excel, and excellent communications skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting construction planning, scheduling and cost control.
Monitoring progress and costs on assigned projects and provides timely and accurate reports of these performance measurements.
Maintains the baseline for the assigned project portfolio using earned value techniques.
Develops and maintains material and labor takeoffs.
Analyzes projects and recommends corrective actions to mitigate negative impacts to cost and schedule.
Assists in tracking claims.
Forecast preparation.
Assists the estimating and proposal teams in proposal preparation.
Interfaces with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Construction Managers, and Clients.
Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Project / Primavera P6 required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to ensure milestones are met.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
Two to Five years minimum of recent applied scheduling experience. Preferably in a Construction, Heavy Civil, Utility, or EPC environment.
