The role
As an Electrical and Electronic Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary with this role directly impacting the UK defence. You will be responsible for fixing submarine equipment and responding to defects, sometimes in person.
Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for maintaining aspects of supplied equipment across a number of UK submarine platforms.
You'll also:
Testing equipment to production standards using simulators and electrical equipment
Support answering first line technical questions, this could be through email or providing specialist on-site and on-platform support with a lead engineer
Undertaking design modifications and design investigations to improve equipment performance, availability, reliability or in response to obsolescence/new customer requirements
Ensuring technical drawing pack and supporting documentation is up to date
This role is full time, 37-hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with four days in the office/onsite and one day working from home.
Essential experience of the Electrical and Electronic Engineer:
General electrical, electronics and software capability however the willingness to learn and take on new challenges would also be suitable
Good, broad, electrical/electronic engineering knowledge
Demonstrated logical and pragmatic problem solving abilities
Good communication skills both oral and written
Experience with product data management system
Qualifications for the Electrical and Electronic Engineer:
HND or Equivalent in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
