The Role
The Director Business Development supports the Business Development & Licensing group within the BD department. This individual reports into the Sr. Director BD&L.
Responsibilities
Lead and support the execution of business development strategy in support of Genmab's preclinical, clinical and commercial portfolio, by driving identification, diligence and negotiation of portfolio-supporting license-based transactions and -partnerships
Structure, negotiate and close licensing transactions with existing and new partners
Develop and maintain relationship with partners to ensure customer satisfaction and create new business opportunities
Prepare opportunity assessments with scientific/portfolio rationale, partnership framework and financial assessment, analysis of competitive landscape and comparable deal terms
Collaborate with/ lead cross functional teams [R&D, IP, Legal, Finance, Commercial] to evaluate and exexecute on deal opportunities
Collaborate with the wider BD team to formulate partnering strategy and objectives by providing insights and making recommendations with significant potential impact
Requirements
Master's degree life sciences or related area. Advanced degree (MBA/MSc/ PHD) preferred
10+ years of experience in Biotech/ Pharma or related industry with 5+ years in Business Development & licensing
Greater experience in deal structuring and license contract negotiations, having completed multiple deals [as evidenced by deal sheet]
Experience in working with cross functional teams
Experience in people and budget management
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$165,000.00---$275,000.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
