Job Description Job Description A leading designer and manufacturer of gable top filling solutions, is offering a great opportunity for a Field Service Engineer for the Americas to be a key contributor to their growing company. The right individual will need to have the right combination of technical and commercial skills to provide technical support and assistance to customers.
Corporate offices are located in Treviso, Italy and this position would report into their US division. We provide value-added solutions for the filling and packaging of milk, dairy products, fruit juices, liquid eggs in Gable Top cartons and are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. The US division provides installation and service support for the fillers installed in North, Central and South America.
Responsibilities:
Install and test new equipment and start up machines, ensuring proper operation
Train clients on how to operate and maintain their Galdi filler and auxiliary equipment
Provide technical support and troubleshooting via phone, and technical assistance on site in case problem cannot be resolved remotely
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per maintenance contract
Order parts needed for repairs as needed • Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers
Create and maintain service records and field service reports on customer site visits
Comply with safety policies and standards of conduct and appearance
Build and maintain relationships with customers
Qualifications for Service Technician:
Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Previous experience in providing engineering field services, troubleshooting and field repairs of electrical/mechanical equipment
Proficiency in programming PLC’s
Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as training skills
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, blue prints, and diagrams
Ability to work under pressure experienced during machine downtime
Need to have strong interpersonal and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently without much supervision
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to effectively manage time
Travel up to 80% of the time in US and internationally
Spanish language fluency is a plus
