Position Summary:
The Category Manager will be responsible for strategic management of designated categories including such things as performing RFPs, supplier selection, supplier negotiation, & vendor management. This individual is committed to driving cost savings and efficiency by fostering strong supplier relationships and is responsible for driving cost-out to directly impact the bottom line.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for category growth and profitability.
Ultimate ownership of vendor partnerships & programs.
Drive-out cost within our existing categories
Secure additional product in times of constrained inventory.
Initiate & execute product & category line reviews.
Conducts category and spend analysis for respective areas of control.
Executes supplier relationship management activities to improve supplier performance, evaluation and qualification.
Achieves targets for strategic sourcing activities including total spend, fill-rates, & inventory on hand.
Responsible for sourcing of North American products in support of the New Product Development Pipeline.
Required Skills:
Strategic sourcing and/or product management experience.
Successful track record of planning & executing cost-out initiatives such as category line reviews.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally to our vendor partners.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools/technology.
