Category Manager

As a Category Manager, you will play a critical role in the strategic management and development of specific product categories within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to drive profitable growth by optimizing assortment, pricing, promotions, and overall merchandising strategies for your assigned categories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, procurement, and supply chain to ensure alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with company objectives, market trends, and customer preferences.
Assortment Planning: Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to optimize product assortment within assigned categories. Identify gaps and opportunities for assortment expansion or consolidation.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, secure competitive pricing, and ensure high product quality and availability.
Pricing and Promotions: Implement pricing strategies and promotional plans to drive sales and profitability. Monitor pricing trends, competitive positioning, and consumer response to adjust pricing strategies as needed.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with supply chain and inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory within assigned categories.
Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing market analysis and performance tracking to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to develop integrated go-to-market plans, support new product launches, and drive promotional activities.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure category performance and regularly monitor progress against targets. Prepare and present comprehensive reports and insights to stakeholders.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to product quality, safety, and ethical sourcing within assigned categories.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in category management, merchandising, or related roles within the retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and category management software.
Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate market trends, and drive innovation within assigned categories.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices in category management and retail merchandising.

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
