Job Description Job Description Description: Responsible for overseeing aspects of transportation services for customers and plants. Role requires some operational expertise to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of our transportation network. Transportation Management-
Work with freight carriers, warehouse vendors and internal manufacturing locations to plan, execute and manage transportation operations, ensuring a timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Carrier Relations-
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and warehouses
Customer Service-
Collaborate with internal customers to understand our customers’ needs, address any issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Freight Payment-
Work with Finance group (Accounts Payable) to ensure invoices are received in time, reviewed for activity and paid according to payment terms.
Compliance-
Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, including safety standards and environmental guidelines.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in transportation management
Strong knowledge of transportation industry best practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Excel, SAP and contract management
System implementations experience desired
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities at one time
Strong data entry, written and verbal skills
Ability to identify invoice discrepancies
Experience with freight carriers/freight charges
This position is hybrid, and the selected candidate will be required to work on-site three days per week at our Houston, TX location.
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
