EDUCATION DIRECTOR

Job Overview:

The Education Director for the St. Philip's Child Development Center is a leadership role assisting the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing the educational and developmental programs offered to children. This role entails curriculum planning, staff management, program evaluation, and maintaining a nurturing and enriching environment that supports children's growth and learning. The Education Director collaborates with teachers, parents, and the Executive Director to ensure high-quality early childhood education experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Implementation: Collaborate with the Executive Director to implement the Learning Strategies Creative curriculum that supports children's learning and social-emotional development. Monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements based on best practices and research. Ensure curriculum reflects best practices, fosters holistic development, and meets the needs of diverse learners.

Educational Leadership: Provide guidance and support to teaching staff in implementing the curriculum effectively. Model instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and positive interactions with children.

Staff Supervision and Development: In collaboration with the Executive Director, recruit, hire, train, and mentor teaching staff and support personnel. Conduct regular evaluations, offer feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Implement assessment tools to track children's developmental progress and identify areas of improvement. Collaborate with teachers to create individualized learning plans for children with diverse needs.

Parent Communication and Engagement: Establish open lines of communication with parents, providing updates on children's progress, activities, and achievements. Organize parent-teacher conferences and workshops to foster a strong parent-school partnership.

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that programs meet licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Conduct regular observations, assessments, and reviews to maintain program quality.

Collaboration with Executive Leadership: Work closely with the Executive Director and administrative staff to align program goals with overall center objectives. Provide input on strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Professional Development Initiatives: Stay informed about current trends and research in early childhood education. Implement professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

Classroom Environment and Safety: Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages children's exploration and creativity. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Community Engagement: Represent the center in the community and build relationships with local schools, organizations, and educational partners. Participate in educational forums, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Five (5) years of experience in early childhood education, with a focus on curriculum development and program management.

Strong understanding of child development theories and practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and executive leadership.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards for early childhood education.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teaching staff.

Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
