Carta is in search of a Growth Product Design Lead who is passionate about leading complex, high impact projects, and influencing product strategy through design vision. This person will work with the Growth team which looks at customer acquisition and conversion across Carta as a whole, partnering with Carta’s individual business units to drive growth through both stand-alone Growth projects and in-product upsells and feature development. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned Growth product designer who is savvy, curious, enjoys working cross-functionally, and can effectively communicate vision to leadership. They can advocate for the nerdiness of design craft in addition to the business case of a given design direction. This person must be a self-starter who can work through ambiguity to lead projects from start to finish. We are looking for someone who can inspire fellow designers and stakeholders, and lead with both user empathy and conviction.
As a Growth Design Lead, you will play a crucial role in Carta’s business success. You will own Carta’s various customer acquisition channels from top of funnel to conversion and be a key strategic player in how we optimize and extend our revenue driving initiatives. You will serve as a point of connection between marketing teams and product teams. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to optimize, design, and conceive of 0-1 initiatives for the full range of Carta’s customers: from C-corps to LLCs as well as fund managers, investors, tax experts, and our Carta service and delivery colleagues.
Additionally you will:
Drive the overall strategic design direction for our Growth design initiatives.
Own the UX for Carta’s in-app upsell features, freemium products, and online tools
Deeply understand user needs and drive alignment around funnels and conversion mechanisms by creating models, concept diagrams, workflow diagrams, and journey maps
Design flows, sketches, prototypes, and drive implementation for your projects
Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers and product managers
Contribute to building a strong human centered design culture
About You
The ideal candidate is passionate about Growth design and loves ‘chasing the numbers’ while being able to think holistically about the overall growth strategy of Carta. You love optimizing funnels, ideating creative revenue-driving solutions and building intuitive solutions to complex problems that provide direct value to users. You are a firm hand at driving strategy, ideation, prioritization, problem solving, and product delivery. If that sounds like you, we would love to talk to you. In our search, we’re prioritizing:
8+ years of product design experience with a minimum of 2 years of Growth Design experience
A strong portfolio of case studies that demonstrate a successful track record of growth centered design solutions
A disciplined approach to research, metrics, data analysis and experimentation
A talent for systems thinking and complex problem solving
A high bar for UX/UI craft; an eye for visual design, interaction details, typography, and pixel-perfect deliverables
Experience influencing cross-functional teams to adopt bold design solutions
Excitement around product-led growth and sales, funnel optimization and exploring what behaviorally drives a user to upgrade products in-app
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills that allow you to convey the value of your design solutions.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment — balancing rigor and scrappiness.
High comfort level with ambiguity; openness to critique from other disciplines and curiosity to learn from a spectrum of perspectives.
Nice-to-have: experience with B2B sales, finance or the venture capital space, experience designing freemium products or interactive online tools
Salary
Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:
$182,750 - $215,000 in [San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA; New York, NY]
$164,475 - $193,500 in [Seattle, WA]
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
