Description
In order to make lasting, positive impact and change in the healthy equity of the communities we serve, leveraging the support of key stakeholders will be critical. As healthy equity is driven by healthy partnerships, collaborations, engagement, and data driven analysis, so also is driven, innovative, experienced leadership ready to drive change through equitable solutions and intentional, systemic partnerships. To that end, the _ Community Health & Community Engagement, will identify, cultivate, measure the effectiveness of community resources and partnerships across Humana lines of business, internal stakeholders and external communities and markets to lead Humana's efforts to maximize engagement and realize measurable impact on whole person health and healthy equity in the communities in which we work and serve. This role is responsible for leading, developing and overseeing the implementation of enterprise strategies, programs and community outreach, diversity, health equity and inclusion strategies in partnership with stakeholders and partners.

The AVP, Community Health & Engagement will be responsible for:
Creating and leading strategic areas of focus and Health Equity community health engagement strategy/framework to support all lines of business in achieving long-term growth and alignment
Strategic thought leadership in areas of health equity community engagement and partnership
Identification of key Partnerships and necessary interventions and programming by market
Developing, managing and maintaining Cross-functional collaboration with responsibility to implement and operationalize strategy
Leading the end to end strategy, including oversight of the design and implementation of Community Health Assessments
Overseeing and providing strategic direction for ensuring connective touchpoints with the Foundation and Bold Goal team
Creating, and leading the development and implementation of Digital tracking/measurement of community investments
Strategic oversight, development and management of communities of practice, including the education and Organizing of:
Projects/Initiatives to bring communities and organizations together around common cause; educational initiatives to socialize equity and SDOH in communities
End to end ownership and development, expansion and management of all internal facing partnerships to engage Humana Associate population
Identifying opportunities for ongoing Internal and External Training and Education, and collaborating with internal and external teams to implement methods and measure effectiveness
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the _ Community Health & Engagement are:
Identification and engagement of key stakeholders, communities, partners and initiatives to support the community health equity strategy and mission
Engagement and collaboration with government, civic and community partners, ensuring highly effective relationships for the mutual benefit of the organization
Leading efforts to identify areas to leverage insights and expertise from Bold Goal and Humana Foundation teams to advance and inform community-related health equity efforts
Identifying key partners and stakeholders and programs necessary to advance health equity strategy including the Identification of key markets for expansion of Bold Goal efforts to achieve broader community health targets
Building reputation and credibility as an industry thought leader through publishing articles and white papers... presenting... on area outcomes as well as representing Humana and our Health Equity Strategy at community, policy and other external events as needed
Collaborations/Coordination w/government affairs team to influence community health equity strategy at local, state and federal levels
Development of strategy and framework for tracking and measuring effectiveness of strategic community investments
Convening stakeholders, community members, internal champions at regular intervals for shared (bi-directional) learning, community outreach, status/progress to include:
Consumer, Associate, Neighborhood groups, Nonprofit community agencies, businesses, schools/university partnerships, trade associations, professional orgs
Developing, leading cultivating, maintaining collaborative activities (activities, forums, Advisory councils, educational activities)
Partnering w/internal stakeholders to maintain collaborations with Humana associates and communities (via NRG's, Local Councils, Inclusion and Diversity Team, etc)

Additional Information
Role Essentials:
Leadership
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Communication, Public Health or other related course of study or relevant experience
Demonstrated ability to perform successfully as a leader of other leaders, teams and cross-functional groups
Demonstrated success in building and leading successful teams with a culture that is committed to execution, collaboration, communication, and a positive growth and learning environment for associates and communities. The application of regular coaching, timely performance management and active mentoring
Leadership of employee Training and associate development programming and initiatives
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders (MT and SVP levels)

Community and coalition building, public policy development and advocacy
Knowledge of and experience influencing and collaborating w/key government stakeholders
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the polish, poise and executive presence that ensures effective interaction w/senior and executive level audiences and ability to positively represent Humana in external forums
Extensive knowledge of key drivers of associate and community engagement in diverse communities (internal and external)
Knowledge of and experience influencing and collaborating w/key government stakeholders
Extensive experience driving enterprise-wide initiatives with broad visibility by associates, people leaders and executive leadership
Demonstrated ability to facilitate large- and small-scale engagement forums (panels, town halls, community forums)

Demonstrated leadership of diversity and equity related programming, initiatives
Deep understanding of diverse cultures, communities
Knowledge and expertise relating to cultural competency, bias, inequity and associate/community mitigation measures
Data, Analytics, Training and Development
Proven record of success in in driving the Identification, Development and strategic alignment of long-term data and analytics strategy directly related to, inclusion and equity related initiatives, metrics to include:
Dashboards, self-service tools and reporting scorecards
Development of reporting tools and dashboards to monitor progress and gauge program effectiveness
Development of goals, action plans, communication strategies and key initiatives relating to equity gaps for communities of color and underserved communities
Agility and Change Management
Demonstrated ability to model Agile mindset
Strong problem solving skills, flexibility and the ability to work effectively on an inter-disciplinary team
Strong verbal and written communication, including presentations
