SUMMARY: The Vice President, Finance is responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership to support business growth and profitability goals of the Fuels business. As a member of the Fuels leadership team, the VP, Finance advises and provides insight on all aspects of financial affairs with a focus on strategy development and execution.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and coordinate the company financial planning and budget management functions.

Analyze financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost, and compliance with budgets.

Establish, implement, and maintain the financial plans and policies of the organization, ensuring accountability for the performance and results of related units.

Develop and maintain overall accounting policies and controls.

Assist in long-range planning and advise the leadership team on financial affairs.

Stay current on financial matters and the potential impacts of current and future laws/regulations on the operation of the organization.

Develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage financial responsibilities for departmental plans and organizational priorities.

Manage the preparation of financial reports, financial outlooks, and financial forecasts.

Participate in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of key business and performance goals, short and long term strategic planning and objectives, plans, budgets, programs and policies.

Provide analytics for efficient team structure and performance.

Provide leadership team with ad hoc reports and analysis to assist in financial planning.

Lead, evaluate and develop financial staff to ensure the organization’s accounting activities remain accurate, ethical, and consistent according to regulations, laws, and standards.

Oversee the daily operations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary requirements.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. MBA and/or CPA preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 12 years management experience including audit experience, GAAP accounting principles, regulatory reporting and a high level of financial systems experience including systems development and implementations. Inventory costing experience and familiarity with Private Equity preferred.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; in addition to proficiency and familiar with current financial management software.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of, a team. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability to develop and implement long range financial plans. Knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets and product-line profitability analysis. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
