Postdoctoral Scholar - Department of Physiology

Research 100% - Plans and directs experiments. - Identifies original research projects, experiments, and research directions. - Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to accomplish research objectives - Independently prepares abstracts, research reports, and manuscripts for publication. - Participates in grant preparation and submissions. - May supervise undergraduate/graduate students and research technicians. - Maintains a safe laboratory environment and ensures compliance with governmental and University policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. - Performs other job-related assignments as assigned.

Qualifications

Interested candidates with candidate should have a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D., in relevant fields (ideally within the last three years) with extensive experience in cell/molecular biology, and metabolism.

The successful candidate should hold a doctoral degree in life sciences and/or medicine, along with demonstrated expertisein metabolism and/or GI stem cells, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications or thesis work. While expertise in immunology is preferred, it is not necessary. Our research utilizes in vivo methods, including genetic and surgical mouse models, and in vitro models such as intestinal organoids. Technical requirements for this position include first-hand experience in the analysis of large-scale biological data, proficiency in cell and tissue culture, molecular biology skills, and an interest in working with transgenic animals and disease models.
