BLH Technologies, Inc. , an award-winning company specializing in public health, communications, technology, and safety monitoring solutions for Federal and commercial clients, seeks an experienced and highly qualified Senior Accountant .
Responsibilities:
· Apply intermediate accounting skills to perform routine and non-routine tasks involving the processing and reconciliation of two or more of the following:
· Accounts payable
· Accounts receivable
· Assist with month end close.
· May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
· Prepare reports for Project Director
· Listen for, identify, and resolve client issues and provide superior customer service.
· May conduct research and analysis.
· Execute accounting tasks in adherence to established controls/procedures.
· Report to a Vice President of Accounting and Accounting Manager
· Work under general supervision and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
· Serve as a mentor to junior level accountants.
· May serve as lead on short-term projects.
· May assist with supervision of accounting staff; may assist with performance management.
· Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
· 5+ Years Professional Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience required.
· Able to proactively analyze complex situations and develop creative alternatives for improving results.
· Able to work effectively within a team.
· Able to engage effectively at the client peer-level.
· Able to take ownership of obtaining results within the parameters of own authority without waiting for others to follow up; actively seek to find ways to improve results; Suggest options that would improve the client’s and/or BLH Technologies, Inc business results.
· Intermediate understanding of GAAP and basic industry-specific principles
· Knowledge of industry compliance requirements (e.g., FAR in GovCon)
· Proficient in computers and standard office applications (specifically in Microsoft Excel)
· Proficient with Deltek Costpoint Accounting system
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with clients, peers, supervisors, and subordinates, both verbally and with written communications
· Able to effectively lead a team to accomplish a specific task.
