SUMMARY
The Inventory Specialist reports to the Chief Financial Offer and is responsible for inventory of spare parts, tools, equipment, and materials in a controlled environment The Inventory Specialist also, orders, receives, stores, and issues spare parts, tools, equipment, materials, and other items to employees needed for daily production needs. Follows procedures while meeting established goals such as reducing costs, limiting disruption, improving processes, and supporting systems, safety, and compliance objectives. The Inventory Specialist position follows processes to provide consistent and accurate inventory tracking in Invacors NetSuite and Salesforce systems and develops an organized approach to inventory control.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Issue spare parts, tools, equipment, materials and other items to authorized personnel from a centralized controlled inventory area
Maintain accurately and up to date records for all items issued and received in NetSuite and/or Salesforce
Maintain stock/inventory levels for identified spare parts, tools, equipment, and materials
Create purchase orders in NetSuite as needed
Conduct inventory counts as required
Work with Operations and Accounting to analyze inventory usage and establish minimum, maximum, and reorder points for each inventoried item
Receive, unpack and store incoming purchased items
Organize inventory locations to maximize space efficiency
Assign bin numbers and locations for new inventory items
Inspect tools and equipment received from Operations for defects and wear; report damage to the appropriate Supervisor
Maintain the inventory work area in a neat and organized fashion at all times
Maintain security of and access to the inventory area
Practice safe work habits; follow company policies, department work instructions, and safety requirements
Work with Engineering and Operations to develop kits and accurately set them up in the Salesforce system
Initially, set up the controlled inventory area including setting up an organized racking and bin location system and moving all items into the inventory area
QUALIFICATIONS
3 to 5 years of inventory control experience
Ability to safely operate industrial powered lift equipment (Forklift, pallet jack)
Basic math skills
At least 2 years experience working in an ERP system
Working knowledge of MS Office-Outlook, Excel, Word; data entry
Knowledge of inventory control practices/processes
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills to handle daily inquiries from various team members
Effective organizational and administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain positive work relationships; ability to work with a diverse range of personality types
Ability to interpret and follow work instructions, company policies, and procedures
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Vocational training/certifications in mechanical/maintenance or machinist fields
