Community Healthcare Advocate

General Summary: The Community Healthcare Advocate serves as the primary contact and liaison with external agents, brokers and internal resources to meet defined corporate Managed Care patient enrollment objectives. The position has the primary responsibility for positively representing Gonzaba Medical Group with professionalism and integrity and growing the Medicare Advantage membership through an effective marketing and community outreach program designed for the senior population.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
General Requirements:
Develop and maintain supportive, productive, and effective relationships with external and internal partners.
Participate in promotional activities, trade shows, and health fairs to promote Gonzaba Medical Group services and providers.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency preferred.
Work closely with the Marketing teams by offering administrative support such as printing, cutting, fliers, answering phones, data entry, events calendar updating, etc.
Be able to effectively tell the Gonzaba Medical Group story and explain key differentiation from competitors.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Responsibilities: Identify event opportunities with the Medicare-eligible population to promote the healthcare delivery system and support the growth of Medicare Care patients/prospects according to Medicare Advantage plans accepted by Gonzaba Medical Group.
Schedule Doctor and Agent meet and greets.
Coordinate external and internal events, which included, but are not limited to:
Event scheduling
Research potential venues such as ballrooms, commercial stores, churches, etc.
Responsible for all aspects of event planning, submitting decorations, supplies, audio, entertainment, layout, advertisement, flyers, securing venue, etc.
Stays under budget while planning event specifications.
Event setup and breakdown requiring the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Enter enrollments into Salesforce.
Maintains effective time management skills and is able to work with minimal supervision.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are required.
Keep abreast of industry trends, competition, and new opportunities building knowledge of CMS regulations related to all aspects of marketing.
Maintain and update marketing databases, including data entry and report generation.
Provide follow-up and sale generation through outbound telemarketing calls as needed.
Maintain consistent communication with Marketing Team members and Director of Marketing on all matters related to business.
Provide new ideas for streamlining our marketing activities.
Support all marketing initiatives; share best practices and serve as the company's advocate and information source by keeping abreast of industry trends, competition, and new opportunities. Identifying lead patients/prospects on external and internal events to achieve department growth goals.
Required to work on weekends and occasional evenings.
Actively build a strong list of prospective patients for enrollment in the GMG managed care panel through one-to-one patient contact, events to attract prospective patients, and education activities that positively position Gonzaba Medical Group as the managed care provider of choice in the community.
Keeps daily accurate records of managed care patient development activities and prospects.
Maintain consistent communication with other Community Healthcare members, Managers and Directors on all matters related to the business.
Accurately track and report Medicare Advantage enrollment performance.
Be able to effectively tell the Gonzaba Medical Group story and explain key differentiators from competitors.
Maintain consistent communication with other Community Healthcare Coordinator, Supervisor, and Manager on all matters related to the business.
Demonstrate understanding of Medicare Advantage plans accepted by Gonzaba Medical Group by being able to name them.
Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle.
This position requires driving a company vehicle or a personal vehicle; therefore, employee must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current valid Texas Driver License, and proof of current insurance to be subject for mileage reimbursement.
Maintains strict confidentiality.
Education and Training: Minimum high school education or equivalent required.
Experience: Two to three years' experience in marketing or previous experience in a similar role preferred.Experience with CMS guidelines and/or experience in a healthcare-related field preferred.
Other Requirements:Computer Skills : General computer knowledge of Microsoft Office/Outlook.
Work Environment: Depending upon the area assigned, maybe 100% clinical setting, office setting in a clinical environment, or outdoors.Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Works in conditions of heat, cold, wet, dust, and rain conditions.Occasional evening or weekend work.
Mental / Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting to 60 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.
