Human Resources Director

One of our clients, a mission driven non-profit that helps people experiencing homelessness find housing and support services, such as mental health services and job training, is searching for an experienced, principled and dynamic Human Resources Director to lead the Human Resources operations of this complex nonprofit environment. Reporting to the CEO, the HR Director will oversee the day-to-day Human Resources functions and manage a small Human Resources team.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $110,000 to 125,000 per year.
Job Description: Oversee all aspects of human resources and payroll functions, performance management and coaching, staff development, compensation and benefits planning and administration, payroll processing, time & attendance tracking and compliance, workplace safety, and employee relations.
Oversee employee performance review process.
Establish or redesign human resources policies and procedures.
Advise and support Directors on financial matters and lead the annual agency budget development.
Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to align human resources with organizational goals.
Supervise human resources staff.
Requirements: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills
Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration or related field is required. MBA, MNA, MHR or equivalent degree/experience preferred.
SHRM Certification highly preferred
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources leadership roles; experience in service or nonprofit organizations preferred
Experience in the administration of ADP, HRB, or similar human resources systems required; experience in implementing systems
Demonstrated experience in working with labor unions and developing collective bargaining agreements highly preferred
